About Ptasinski & Smith

Ptasinski & Smith has been providing high quality legal services to individuals, families and businesses in the community since 1977. Although performing other types of legal work too, the Firm concentrates in the areas of Estate Planning (such as Wills, Living Trusts and Powers of Attorney), probate and trust administration, and real estate (residential and commercial). We strive to tailor our work and advice to the specific needs and goals of our clients by offering superior professional guidance with a personal touch. We are located in the Golf Mill Professional Building which is the white round office building that is part of the Golf Mill Mall in Niles IL, and we look forward to assisting you with your legal needs in any that way that we can.

About Don Smith

Don Smith is the principal attorney in the Law Firm, having joined with attorney Larry Ptasinski in 1987. Don worked alongside his friend and partner for many years until Larry’s sudden death in 2006. Don now focuses his practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and real estate. Don grew up in Niles and now lives in Des Plaines with his wife Cheryl with whom he raised three adult children. Don is a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame (1980) and Loyola University Law School (1984). Don strongly believes in serving his community, having been an Alderman on the Des Plaines City Council for more than 18 years. Don has also served on the Board of Directors of several community organizations such as the Des Plaines Senior Center, the local Rotary Club and the United Way. When not working, Don loves golfing, playing tennis and running marathons.
